Transition streets

About the project

Transition streets is a local money-saving neighbourhood project. A group of neighbours get together to form a group that will meet seven times in their homes at times they choose.

In 2015 Transition Town Letchworth produced a local adaptation of the Transition Streets information pack . You talk about energy, water, food, waste and transport, sharing your ideas and experience and each individual decides what action they might like to take. Actions may range from changing lightbulbs, getting a water butt, through to pumping up your car tyres. We hope everyone will gain by saving on household bills, cutting their carbon footprint and getting to know their neighbours.
