Transition Town Letchworth Apple Pressing Season Begins

I only have one small apple tree but I took half a bucket of apples and bought back two litres of juice. It will store in the fridge for up to three days. Some has gone into the freezer for drinking at a future date. I know some of my juice will be turned into a hot spiced apple drink, a family favourite, when the cold weather comes. Other members of the apple pressing team, with more apples than me, will be converting some of their juice into cider. TTL members are always happy to share their knowledge of home cider making with members of public during the pressings.
There are another three apple pressings planned this year, dates and locations as follows:
1st October 2016, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, Leys Square, Letchworth 15th October 2016, 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm, The Wynd, Letchworth 29th October 2016, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, Leys Square, Letchworth
So come along if you have a tree full of apples you are not sure what to do with, but bring plenty of bottles as you will be amazed how much juice you will get. The service is free but donations to costs are welcome. We suggest up to 2 buckets of apples per person is reasonable as it means nobody has to wait too long to get their juice.
TTL are always keen to widen our membership so if you are interested in becoming part of our apple pressing team then email us, ttletchworth@gmail.com, or come along and meet us at one of our pressings.
